Advocate and the Wales & Chester Circuit are hosting a free Pro Bono event for barristers to explore how taking on pro bono work can help with practice development, and offer practical ways you can get involved in supporting access to justice.

HHJ Harrison will open the event, sharing a judicial viewpoint of access to justice in Wales and the benefits of having pro bono Counsel.

Attendees will also hear from Caroline Rees KC, Leader of the Wales & Chester Circuit, and Welsh barristers George Pollitt and Adriana Rodriguez, who will share their experience of how pro bono helped their practice development. Clare Carter, Chief Executive of the Access to Justice Foundation, will share on pro bono costs orders and how to obtain them.

Advocate’s Caseworker in Wales, Stephen Davies, will speak about his role and how you can get involved in pro bono work through Advocate.

The talks will be followed by a drinks reception and networking.
