The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), introduced in September, marks a step change in how people train and enter the profession. This new way of qualifying opens up opportunities for law firms, in-house teams and training providers around how they train future solicitors.
Since the start of the pandemic, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has run more than 20 SQE interactive virtual events, but it has missed being able to meet with the sector face-to-face. People have also fed-back that the opportunity to network is valuable.
The SRA will host a networking event in Cardiff on the 21 October 2021, to offer this missed opportunity to focus on the SQE.
The event is free to attend and open to anyone involved in training future solicitors, whether an employer, training provider or law clinic.
The events will offer an opportunity to:
- get a reminder of where we are with the SQE
- learn how training providers and employers have responded to the SQE
- network with employers, education and training providers
- talk to the SQE team from the SRA and Kaplan
