Public Law Solicitor

Location: Cardiff

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Public Law Solicitor to join a leading and award-winning team based in Cardiff.

This highly regarded firm and role offer an excellent opportunity for a Public Law Solicitor to be at the forefront of NHS public law, advising on commissioning responsibilities, powers, duties and governance.

You will be joining an award-winning team and will work with a Head of Department & Director who are both recognised in both the Chambers UK Guide and the Legal 500 Directory.

You will benefit from the expertise of working with a Solicitor who is recognised in Chambers UK Guide as one of the leading Claimant Personal Injury Lawyers in Wales as well as a Band 1 Administrative & Public Law lawyer. They are also ranked in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame and so the expertise gained from working alongside this individual is unprecedented.

The role

This role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to:

  • Advise on a range of topics including responsible commissioner issues, S117 aftercare, NHS Continuing Healthcare and Personal Health Budgets
  • Get the chance to work and learn alongside experienced lawyers, whilst supervising more junior members of the team where appropriate
  • Have direct access to clients and work on complex advisory work

About you

The ideal candidate will be a U.K qualified lawyer with a minimum 2 years post qualification experience. You will also have:

  • Experience working with either in-house, health or local authority clients (beneficial, but not essential)
  • A passion for business development with the ability to retain existing clients and attract new business

You will have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise and manage a caseload, have excellent communication skills and have a commercial, client-focused approach.
