Join the Law Society as it hosts a St David’s Day Celebration at National Museum Cardiff on 26 February 2026

The celebration is an open invite to Wales’ legal community, offering the chance to connect with peers, hear from leading voices and celebrate Welsh identity in the heart of the nation’s capital.

Guests will enjoy Welsh food and drink, alongside a vibrant programme of live entertainment showcasing the best of Wales’ culture.

Programme

Dr Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury and co-chair of the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales will headline the event. Born in Swansea and a renowned thinker, writer and public figure, Dr Williams will reflect on the Commission’s landmark findings and its evidence for devolving justice to Wales.

The programme will open with remarks from Mark Davies, Chair of the National Board for Wales, and close with a keynote address by Mark Evans, the 181st president of the Law Society – the third Welsh solicitor to hold the role.

The celebration will feature performances from the Morriston Orpheus Choir, the Charlie Herbert Trio, and magicians Stephen James and Gary Jones, both members of The Magic Circle.

Welsh stand-up comedian Robin Morgan – a familiar voice from BBC’s Mock the Week and The News Quiz – will also take to the stage.

Who should attend?

The event is free to attend and open to all legal professionals, members of the judiciary, barristers, academics and law students.
