CJCH Solicitors is expanding its criminal and regulatory defence service into Swansea and the South West. From 1 October 2026, individuals and businesses in the region will be able to instruct the firm’s criminal team on both a private and a legal aid basis.

The service covers every stage of a criminal case, from advice at the police station through the Magistrates’ Court, Youth Court and Crown Court to the Court of Appeal. The team also defends regulatory investigations and prosecutions, including motoring offences, exceptional hardship applications, and matters brought by the DVLA, HMRC, Companies House, Trading Standards and the RSPCA, as well as contempt of court proceedings.

Matt Ridler, Legal Director for Swansea and the South West at CJCH Solicitors, said:

“People facing investigation or prosecution need clear, expert advice quickly, and they should not have to travel far to get it. Bringing our criminal and legal aid defence service to Swansea means an experienced team is on hand locally, from the first phone call through to court.”

With advice at the police station free to everyone and legal aid available to those who qualify for court proceedings, the firm says the expansion is aimed at improving access to justice across the South West.

The criminal defence service is supported by a 24-hour emergency contact and is available across CJCH’s wider network of offices.
