South Wales firm Fonseca Law, has opened a new office in Blackwood,
The move marks the latest growth step in a history stretching back to 1938, when the practice was founded by solicitor Amador Fonseca. Still trading under the Fonseca Law name, the firm incorporated as Fonsecalaw Limited in 2007 and has been based at New County Buildings on Bethcar Street, Ebbw Vale, since 2003.
Leighton McAdorey, Director-Solicitor at Fonseca Law, said the new office, at Unit 3, The Market Place, Blackwood, is a reflection of the ‘growing demand for legal advice in the region and the resulting need for additional space with the potential to create more than 20 new jobs as the practice continues to expand’. He added there will be a particular focus on developing its family and care department alongside the firm’s wider existing work.
Fonseca Law has built a broad general practice over more than eight decades, covering conveyancing, family law, wills and probate, personal injury and civil litigation, alongside criminal defence work across South Wales and the Valleys. McAdorey commented:
“We already have a wide client base in Blackwood and the surrounding areas, so this was the obvious choice for us.
“Our focus has always been on locally sourced work and the connections we build with the communities we serve, and this new office lets us build on that in Blackwood specifically. We’re still actively looking for new people to join the team as we grow with particular emphasis on our family department.”
The firm will mark the opening with an event for the local community on Friday 25 September, from 2pm at the new office and invites nearby businesses to meet the team.
