Cardiff & District Law Society (CDLS) is delighted to invite you to its charity event with Diabetes Cymru, focusing on diabetes awareness and support.
So many of us are either likely to be diagnosed with the condition or know someone in our friendship group, family or colleagues who are dealing with this on a day to day basis and CDLS would love for you to come and find out more and support the work and impact of Diabetes Cymru.
Join CDLS for an evening filled with insightful discussions led by experts in diabetes care.
This event is designed to provide valuable information and resources for individuals affected by diabetes, and anyone interested in learning more about managing and preventing this condition.
The event is hosted by the President of Cardiff & District Law Society, Trish D’Souza.
Speakers
Beth Baldwin
As a bereaved mum, Beth has been volunteering and raising awareness of type 1 diabetes in memory of her son, Peter, who tragically died of the disease in 2015 aged 13. The Baldwin family has raised over £100,000 and saved multiple children’s lives. Beth has been instrumental in changing Welsh government policy for type 1 diabetes diagnosis.
Beth launched a campaign to ‘Rewrite Peter’s Story’ and ensure his legacy. She is responsible for sending type 1 resource packs to every GP practice across Wales. The project led by Beth and supported by Diabetes UK Cymru brings together local community groups, local advertising and utilising key partners across Wales to make the biggest impact.
A campaigner, volunteer, fundraiser, advocate and ally, Beth is on a mission to change the course for others and give the next generation inspiration and a better world.
