Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice has made three promotions within its specialist family law team. Sam John has been promoted to Director; Bethan Tapper has been promoted to Associate; and Chloe Dixon has been promoted to Trainee Solicitor.

Sam John, a graduate of Swansea University, joined the Firm as a trainee in 2015, before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2017. Sam is described by clients as being ‘professional’ and ‘supportive’ and is heavily involved in the community through various pro-bono commitments. He is a member of the Law Society’s LGBTQ+ Lawyers Network and often carries out pro-bono work at the LGBTQ+ Law Clinic in Cardiff. He said:

“I am over the moon to have been promoted to a Director and am very grateful to my fellow Directors for all of their guidance and training over the years. I could not ask to work for a better firm and am very excited for what the future holds.”

Bethan Tapper studied law with Legal Studies in Europe (in Reading), spending her third year studying in Germany.Bethan joined Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice as a trainee in 2018 and subsequently qualified as a Solicitor in May 2020. Since qualifying, Bethan has advised clients in relation to all aspects of family law, including divorce, matrimonial finances, separation and cohabitee disputes,private children matters, including matters within which, allegations of domestic abuse have been raised.

Like Sam, Bethan is involved in the community with her pro-bono work. She is a committee member of the Junior Law Division (Cardiff and South East Wales), where she acts as Pro-Bono and Education Officer and she hosts a monthly Legal Clinic for Welsh homelessness charity, Llamau.

On the announcement of her promotion, Bethan said:

Having qualified with the Firm almost three years ago, I have loved having the opportunity to learn from the Directors and my colleagues. I am really excited for the next step in my career and am thankful to everyone at the Firm for this opportunity.

Chloe Dixon completed her law degree in Swansea University, before returning to complete the LPC in 2019. Chloe joined Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice in August 2022 and quickly proved to be an asset to the Firm through her hard work and knowledge of the law. She is training to specialise in all aspects of family law and regularly assists fee-earners with client work and attends Court proceedings. She said:

”I feel extremely lucky for the opportunity to work alongside so many incredible solicitors. I am excited to begin the next stage of my career and I am grateful for the support and guidance I have received since joining the team.”
