Gareth Jones, managing director of Gomer Williams Solicitors and Vice Chair of the Law Society’s National Board for Wales, has launched his election campaign for the criminal seat on The Law Society Council. 

After qualifying in 2004, Gareth specialised in criminal law and, in 2012, became the Director of Gomer Williams Solicitors where he has continued to practise in both Welsh and English.

For the last two years, Gareth has been the Vice Chair of the National Board for Wales and, in 2023, became the Committee member of the Criminal Law Committee.

Successful candidates of the Law Society council elections will take office at the end of our AGM on Wednesday 9 October 2024, except where they are filling the casual vacancy, when they take office immediately.

Unless otherwise stated, the normal term of office of a Council member is four years.

About the National Board for Wales 

The National Board for Wales was established in December 2022. The Board was established to better represent the views of the solicitors’ profession in Wales and Welsh solicitors’ current priorities. Formally the Wales Committee. It is chaired by Mark Davies, partner and criminal solicitor at Goldstones Solicitors.
