The Welsh Government has launched a survey on the provision of immigration advice services in Wales, with the intention of collecting a diverse range of viewpoints from businesses and individuals with a visa to map the current supply and demand for advice services across the nation.

It will acquire information to help determine whether businesses that are looking to recruit from overseas have the necessary support to do so and if reasons for not recruiting from abroad include a lack of immigration advice/support.

The survey will also look to obtain information from those in Wales, who are here on a visa, about their experiences in using the immigration system, what would support them to extend their visas or change their visas, and if that support would include immigration advice.

What next?

The Welsh Government is also planning to undertake wider research to look at the current supply and demand of immigration services in Wales. The results of this survey will feed in to that research and help the Welsh Government better understand demand and supply of immigration advice services for non-EU citizens and Welsh employers. Results will feed into any final report and any recommendations put forward as an outcome of the research project.
