About the Role

This opportunity sits within a long-established South Wales firm with a particularly strong footprint across Newport and the surrounding areas. The firm has built its reputation on longstanding client relationships, acting for a consistent base of local developers, SMEs, lenders and commercial landlords. The commercial property team is a core part of the business and generates a steady pipeline of repeat work, rather than relying on one-off transactions.

The team itself is stable, with low turnover and a collaborative culture. You will be working closely with experienced partners who are actively involved in matters, offering a good level of support while still giving autonomy over your own caseload.

The role will involve:

• Managing acquisitions and disposals of commercial property
• Advising on landlord and tenant matters including lease negotiations
• Supporting development work for regional clients
• Acting for SMEs, investors and local businesses
• Drafting and negotiating leases, transfers and agreements

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be a qualified Solicitor with Commercial Property experience
• Be confident running your own files with minimal supervision
• Be comfortable working with local business clients
• Demonstrate a practical and commercially minded approach
