Cardiff-based specialist family law firm Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice has strengthened its senior team following the appointment of Luke Dixon and the return of former trainee Katie O’Connell as Associate Directors.
The appointments have added further senior expertise to the firm’s established family law practice across Cardiff and South Wales.
Luke Dixon joined the firm with 17 years’ post-qualification experience, having most recently led the family law team at another Cardiff practice.
Commenting on his appointment, Luke said:
“I am incredibly excited to be joining Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice. I have always admired the firm’s strong reputation and its commitment to providing exceptional family law advice. I am looking forward to working alongside such a talented team and to contribute to the continued success of the practice.”
Melanie Hamer, Founding Director of Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice, welcomed the appointment, highlighting Luke’s professional reputation and experience. She said:
“I have been a fan of Luke’s work for many years and I have regularly sent him clients where I am conflicted from acting. I love his approach and his manner and he has always been a joy to have on the other side.
“His recruitment brings another string to our bow of talent and strengthens our team which is one of the best and biggest family law teams in England and Wales. I’m excited to be working with him.”
The firm also welcomed back Katie O’Connell, who developed her career specialising in family law, most recently practising at another established Cardiff firm, before returning to Wendy Hopkins as an Associate Director. Katie said:
“I am really pleased to be back in Cardiff and to have re-joined the team. Having completed my training contract here and gone on to qualify as a Solicitor, it feels particularly special to return to a firm that gave me such a great start to my career and where I have so many fond memories.”
Sarah Wyburn, Director at Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice, said Katie’s return reflected the firm’s continued investment in its people and specialist expertise, and added:
“We are delighted to welcome Katie back to the team. Her appointment further strengthens the expertise that our firm offers to our clients, and it is a testament to the high level of service and advice we provide that our team continues to grow.”
Katie completed her training contract with Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice before qualifying as a solicitor in 2014.
