South Wales Resolution – a group of volunteer Resolution family lawyers and practitioners – have been recognised as ‘Region of the Year’ for their network, impact and member support, at the Resolution Awards 2025.
More than 200 Resolution members came together on 18 September 2025 to celebrate the values that unite Resolution members: recognising innovation, impact and a shared commitment to the Code of Practice.
With 12 categories – including seven new awards – this year’s celebration represented the breadth of contributions Resolution members make, and the diversity of the community.
Belinda Moseley, Chair of the South Wales Resolution Committee, and a family lawyer at Geldards, said:
“Resolution’s Code of Practice is at the heart of many of our region’s family lawyers and others who work in the family law sphere so being shortlisted for and then receiving Resolution’s Region of the Year 2025 award is such a fantastic way to recognise wonderful South Wales and all it’s people.
“I hope this will encourage those who already do things the Resolution way to keep going and those who don’t to think about the benefits of coming on board for their clients, their businesses and themselves.”
Moseley thanked those who volunteer their time to build and sustain the two Resolution committees within Resolution in South Wales who ‘put time and effort into offering a variety of events and training’. She added: “I am deeply grateful to everyone who does so much for us.”
Melanie Bataillard-Samuel, Chair of Resolution, said:
“Our Awards are a celebration of excellence within the family justice community, shining a light on those who go above and beyond to support families with compassion, professionalism, and dedication.
“All of our winners, and those who were nominated, epitomise the principles at the heart of Resolution’s work, demonstrating unwavering commitment to a non-confrontational, constructive approach while working in a demanding and emotional profession.”
Bataillard-Samuel added:
“Tonight has been an important opportunity for us to pause, reflect, and recognise the achievements of those individuals and teams who make a lasting difference to improving outcomes for families across the country.”
Resolution’s award for outstanding contribution to the family justice profession, the Resolution Lifetime Achievement Award – in memory of John Cornwell – was presented to Justin Lees, Family Law Solicitor, Three Counties Family Law Group.
