The Law Society’s Legal Heroes programme has opened for nominations – an opportunity to recognise solicitors in Wales and in England who have made a significant impact on the lives of others, their local communities and society over the last two years.

Legal Heroes are solicitors who, through a particular piece of work, have:

  • made a demonstrative, lasting and tangible difference to the life or lives of others, their local community or society
  • brought distinction to the legal profession

President of the Law Society of England and Wales, Mark Evans said:

“We are pleased to welcome the opening of the nominations for Legal Heroes 2026. Legal Heroes shines a light on the solicitors, in England, Wales and internationally who are making a real difference to people’s lives, their communities and wider society.

“Solicitors make an extraordinary difference every day and this campaign is about recognising those who go above and beyond to help individuals, strengthen communities and uphold access to justice.”

Anyone can nominate a solicitor in England and Wales as a Legal Hero: you don’t have to be a solicitor yourself.

Mark encourages the profession and others to make a nomination, ‘if you have experienced or know a solicitor making a real, lasting impact’. He added:

“If you know a solicitor whose dedication, compassion and leadership have changed lives, this is a great opportunity to ensure their work is recognised and celebrated.”

Nominate by Monday 13 April 2026, here.
