A ‘surge’ in private client work and domestic abuse enquires, brought on in part by the coronavirus pandemic, has resulted in GHP Legal employing new members of staff in its Wrexham office.

Frances Cartwright, joins GHP Legal’s Wrexham head office, from Bartletts Solicitors in Chester.

Frances has experience in dealing with all aspects of private client work including obtaining probate, administration of estates, inheritance tax matters, powers of attorney and the preparation of wills. She is currently studying towards gaining her STEP (Society of Trusts & Estates Practitioners) qualification.

Victoria Wilson, Partner at the firm, said:

“Frances brings with her experience and expertise in every area of work covered by the department and will be a valued member of the team.”

GHP Legal has also recently appointed a domestic abuse specialist to family law team in Wrexham.

Sean Rolinson’s appointment reflects ‘an increase in the number of enquiries relating to family matters’, and in particular domestic abuse cases, to the firm since the start of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Since qualifying as a solicitor, Sean has developed a close relationship with several domestic violence charities, including Cardiff RISE (Women’s Aid), BAWSO and Both Parents Matter, and has been commended on his ability to deal with clients who were the victims of domestic abuse.

Nathan Wright, Partner and head of Family Law at GHP Legal, said:

“Since the COVID pandemic began a year ago they have all seen a rise in cases, particularly domestic abuse cases. With a special interest and experience in this area of work, Sean’s appointment could not have come at a more apt time.”

Sean Rolinson (pictured) added:

“Relationship breakdown under any circumstances can be both distressing and confusing, but for victims of domestic abuse it is especially important to have a lawyer on your side who is compassionate and sensitive as well as having the knowledge and experience to provide the best advice and a safe way forward.

“With that very much at the forefront of what I do, I am looking forward to being a member of the GHP Legal family team.”

Originally from the West Midlands, Sean Rolinson studied law at the University of Aberystwyth before going on to complete his LPC at the College of Law, Chester. He qualified as a Solicitor in 2019 and a year later was a nominee for Cardiff Law Society Junior Lawyer of the Year.
